I mean its ruined a potential lead chance by one small mistake... oops

I did some research and it seems he works alongside his wife. I can only imagine how that conversation has gone!!!

______________________________________________________________________________________________________

OMG, a flight delay Frankfurt airport has never been so entertaining!

______________________________________________________________________________________________________

Simon - if this is clever way to create interest, it’s genius.

High risk, but genius!

See you all on LinkedIn🤣🤣

“So how was your day at work today Simon?”

Simon:

Kind regards,

Here we go. A group

https://www.linkedin.com/groups/8795126/

I just keep it simple.

So we don’t spam everyone with request.

Simon you are welcome to join us too of course!

______________________________________________________________________________________________________

Please lets not start spamming everyone’s inbox with Linkedin Requests. Will turn this entertaining thread into a pain in the backside.

Kind Regards,

Gillian

Are we now the GDPR Alliance? protectors of the sensitive data.

If anyone wants to add me https://www.linkedin.com/in/xxxxxxx

______________________________________________________________________________________________________

Wagers on whether we’ll get a follow up email from Simon?

Best regards,

Erum

Sometimes all it takes is a breach of GDPR to bring people together. Which kinda sounds like the tagline for a terrible modern romcom, for which I claim the rights 😉

LinkedIn in the footer, and see you all in the bar at B2B 2020!

All the very best,

Thomas

I got only 421 connections on Linked-in, but I think I will easily reach 500+ today.

Kind regards,

Henry

And here is my LinkedIn too J

______________________________________________________________________________________________________

I’m just secretly pleased there’s as nerdy marketing people out there that are finding this as entertaining!

Here’s my LinkedIn

And yes to that drink!

______________________________________________________________________________________________________

Great idea!

May be Simon could give a little talk on “How to report data breach under the GDPR”

After today I imagine he has a bit more experience on how to do this???

DMA member too! Thought you would know better….

______________________________________________________________________________________________________

For sure J

Or we could even start a marketing club, I think we have the numbers!

______________________________________________________________________________________________________

Hello everyone,

Guess most of us here receive so many boring cold calls and emails.

Hey! At least Simon did a great job to entertain us all here, and look at the engagement rate! What a star!

@xxxxx Agreed!

Would love to take this opportunity to connect with others as well.

My LinkedIn as follows: https://www.linkedin.com/in/xxxxxx/ 😉

P.S. By the way Simon, I have informed you that I would like to unsubscribe your “entertainment channel” and you have also confirm my un-subscription, however, I am still receiving this email, would be great if you can show up and explain to everyone here that I have unsubscribed already, and remove me from the future emails, don’t be shine Simon, you are the host here lol

This is literally pure entertainment! Made my day ;) ;)

Simon coming back to his inbox this afternoon:

______________________________________________________________________________________________________

We should all go and get a drink together at next B2B marketing expo. It is such a fun group.

Kind regards,

Henry

lol

This is indeed the funniest email thread I've ever been part of.

Shall we nominate Simon for the award? :D

Are we going to connect on LinkedIn to get something good from this, at least?

Aleksandar

Stop it everyone 😂😂😂😂 lmao!

I think simon needs an award...just need to think which category🤔🤔

Simon post email disaster:

Hi Simon

You may also want to amend your spelling for future emails:

“To unsubscribe from future emails please send this email back with the words unsubscribe writte into the Subject line. Your details were collected from the Marketing event hosted in the Excell building , our stand included a spinning wheel of fortune giving you the chance to win chocolate.”

Oops sorry! GDPR

______________________________________________________________________________________________________

😊 GDP Rules!

Paul

______________________________________________________________________________________________________

Simon

How is my data secure when you’ve just publicised it to god know how many people.

Detention I think for spouting rubbish! Just like our politicians.

______________________________________________________________________________________________________

Simon we have some GDPR sessions happening in the office this week if you would like to attend..

Mark

______________________________________________________________________________________________________

Have to say, aside from the fact our friend Simon has done the exact thing he shouldn’t of done to comply with GDPR and I hate these types of emails and/or phone calls… My mail box has never been so entertaining 😃

So thank you to everyone who has responded and Simon… shame on you!!

Kind regards,

Hannah

______________________________________________________________________________________________________

Haha! Thanks to everyone for the great thread. And hopefully see you all at next year’s B2B Marketing Expo J

Best regards,

Fran

This is the best email of 2019.

*stands up and claps slowly*

______________________________________________________________________________________________________

Yes, he possibly found our emails from the B2B Marketing Expo.

Thank you Simon, but as we at XXXXXX, for being in the Telecom & Software industry, take privacy very seriously. Thousands of companies trust us so things are pretty tough here in this matter. We would rather go with a law firm for it.

At least he triggered a common interest in everyone in this email thread: How NOT to outbound emails in bulk. If he would have used ActiveCampaign, HubSpot, Salesforce or similar, his email would be secured, personalized, properly tracked and, last but not least, engaging.

PS: we integrate with these tools so I personally use some of them on a daily basis and am able to recommend them.

Have a good day everyone!

Well this did give me a laugh this morning. I concur with Alex and Danilo, please provide details of where you got my contact details.

Chloe

Well,  my fellow professionals - if you guys are looking to recruit graduates/entry level candidates give me a shout. I promise they will be prepped adequately on GDPR prior to interviewing with you ;)

______________________________________________________________________________________________________

Simon – For someone who is supposedly a Data Protection ‘specialist’.

I would like to enquire further as to why you deem it is acceptable to share mine (and 260+ other e-mail addresses) in your message.

Please explain as to why / how this has happened before people take the relevant  actions.

Regards.

Spencer

______________________________________________________________________________________________________

I guess no one will be going to him for GDPR advice after this. 😃

Kind Regards,

Gillian

______________________________________________________________________________________________________

Yes b2b marketing expo is what we all have in common ....

I guess Simon got our details from B2B marketing expo.

Kind regards,

Henry

______________________________________________________________________________________________________

Simon,

As per GDPR rules, I would like you to provide me details of where you have got my email address from.

Regards

Alex

Subject: Anniversary

Dear sirs/madam

I am someone who takes his enjoyment through applying data protection regulations (GDPR) to companies in such a way it makes them compliant but they continue to function and make money. I’m a pragmatic GDPR consultant with a data and marketing/media background and understand the challenges business have when it comes to data and the security of this data.

On the anniversary of when GDPR came into force within the EU it might be time to review your level of compliance or time to become compliant, either way I can help you with both.

I would be more than happy to come and chat further about any challenges you have in the data protection/data space.

Many thanks
